A Mix of Colombian Food & Party - Andrés Carne de Res

To taste a wide variety of Colombian meals all in one place, Andrés Carne de Res is the most popular restaurant in Bogota. Not only is it a  tourist destination, but whenever a local celebrates a birthday or has out of town guest, it is the first choice. Its popularity comes from the fact that the excellent food is enhanced by its dramatic ambience.

As soon as you walk in the door, the restaurant is decorated by vintage items, hearts, christmas lights, and Colombian culture think the Colombian version of T.G.I. Friday´s! The location also is eccentric because of the way that it is built. The original location outside of Bogota is an old finca (farmhouse) that was renovated by the addition of extra dining rooms and dance floors. As a result, the restaurant is a labyrinth of hidden places to discover, while the Andres D.C. location has 4 floors of the same concept in the city.Throughout lunch and dinner, they even have performers dressed in traditional Colombian clothes that will interact with guests.

The best time to go is for dinner so that you can also enjoy the party at night. Dinner starts with some Colombian appetizers such as a patacon (fried plantain) and morcilla (blood sausage). If you still have room, fill up on a bandeja paisa a dish made of rice, beans, ground beef, egg, avocado, pork rind, and plantain. After dinner, the aguardiente (liquor made of anise) starts to flow as the party start and people move to the
dance floor.

BONUS: It has a retail store where you can buy great gifts!

Little Indian Superstar - Trendy Indian Food and Gin Club in Bogota

There are now well-known restaurants for Indian food, but Little Indian Superstar is definately the most trendy. This is because the crowd is different (think hipsters) and the Gin bar is more of a focus than the food. Though the food is good too, it may not be as traditional as the other restaurants.

The main attractions are the cocktails and a specialty of unique Gin cocktails in huge cups! Here you will find common Indian food like Chickin Tikka Masala, samosas, and some vegitarian options. Since it also is a cocktail bar, it gets crowded fast, so I recommend makeing reservations to book a dinner table during the weekend. Most people at the bar may be standing around while you eat dinner, so do not expect a quiet and chill dining experience. Also, the DJ and music at a clubbish atmosphere.

In sum, people go there for the atmosphere and it is a great spot to hit up before going out because it is in the Zona T and near other bars. You will quickly notice it form the outside for it's interior design and decoration as it has Christmas lights and holographic wallpaper year round mised in with traditional Indian decor.

BONUS: They have a rooftop terrace with a fire pit!
